Confined Space Rescue

Planning work in confined spaces

Understanding and implementing the safety requirements required by the Confined Space Safety Regulations 1997 can seem somewhat challenging if it is not something you regularly encounter.

ResQsupport is working within these requirements everyday and is able to help you navigate what you need to do.

Our consultancy service gives you access to our most experienced people to create all the documentation you need to ensure your confined space is adequately planned, controlled, and supervised. This includes robust and resilient Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), which are essential to running any confined space project.

If you are familiar with the requirements but need resources and support with writing all the documentation, then we are available to work as part of your team to assess the space and give guidance on how to meet the criteria and deliver a safe confined space environment.

Implementing safety teams in confined space project

Once all the documentation is complete we can support you with the required equipment and confined space trained personnel to ensure the work is completed safely. Our teams range from three to four man teams depending on the size and needs of the project. The equipment that will be used by us on the project is regularly tested and replaced with newer technology, when needed to give you the best safety possible.

Knowing what to do if something goes wrong

The Confined Space Safety Regulations Approved Code Of Practice (ACOP) L101 lists Specified Risks associated with confined spaces. However, the most common issues arise not from the confined space, but from the workers within it, experiencing ill health from medical conditions or as a result of an injury from the work carried out. Knowing how to monitor these and other specified risks is critical to safe working practice. ResQsupport will integrate with your work teams to spot these risks ahead of time to maximise workflow and output.

Maintaining records

We ensure best practice by retaining records of confined space entry projects and its entrants, including equipment used and RAMS for a period of 10 years after a project has been completed. As part of our ISO accreditation process we have made as much of these record systems paperless, to ensure our commitment to mitigating our carbon footprint. All records are held securely and meet all  GDPR requirements. In essence, we hold the records so you don't have too.

Resilience testing

We ensure best practice by conducting resilience tests of our rescue plans. We share a report of this test with you to demonstrate that the plan will be effective in the event of an emergency on your site.

  • Our learning informs our practice, whenever we test we look for ways to improve by analysing our performance.

  • We are committed to continual development, testing and evaluation of new techniques and equipment.

The benefit to you is knowing the plan is safe, effective, and specific to your needs.
